You can cook your food just the way you want it. The hook that comes with it is nice too because it does keep you from gettin burned. Can only have 1" or less of water, otherwise food just gets boiled, instead of steamed. Also seems to take some effort to get it cleaned. I scrub and then place on dishwasher.0 It is a steamer. It is fine and came quickly. I bought it for my Instant Pot Perfect fit for the pressure cooker. I'm also able to use it to pull out my 1 1/2 qt souffle dish from the pressure cooker. great product. great service. I love my premium vegetable steamer. It's the best for steaming my vegetables and I use them for steaming my shrimp also. I would tell anyone that it's the greatest steamer. Been using it practically every day since purchased. Well made, expansion size good, easy to clean plus love the handle and haven't had one burned... works great, A little difficult to clean though, You have to wipe each individual "petal" and it likes to close while cleaning it, but it does do a good job. This is a very practical steamer basket and will be an enormous aid in partaking of a much healthier diet than I had been consuming! I was looking for a vegetable steamer to use with my Instant Pot and couldn't be happier with my choice. I did order the large basket and it fits perfect.
